La noche de ayer se celebró la entrega 67 de los premios Emmy, una noche muy particular, donde no pegué ni la mitad de mis nominaciones y hubo un gran y casi absoluto ganador: HBO.
Repasemos 6 momentos importantes de esta entrega y les dejo como bonus una lista de los ganadores. 😀
6. Por fin el Emmy para John Ham y se cierra el ciclo Mad Men
Mad Men fue una de las series que nos dejó para siempre en el 2015 y John Ham quién esperábamos que ganara esta categoría.
Una serie que se estrenó en el 2007 y que durante 7 temporadas nos dio grandes actuaciones de Ham, quien ha estado nominado a Mejor Actor en serie dramática durante 8 ocasiones (incluyendo la de este año). ¡Si! ¡8 años de aparecer en la pantalla y no subir por el premio!
Por fin recibió su merecido, tanto así que el mismo John pensó que era una equivocación y nos brindó una entrada memorable.
5. Olive Kitteridge se lleva un gran standing ovation (y 8 Emmys)

3. Comedy Central la hace de nuevo <3
Con grandes comedias en la competencia por «Series de Variedad» como The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Inside Amy Schumer, Key & Peele y The Colbert Report, todas compitiendo contra solo 1 serie de otra cadena, Comedy Central fue el gran ganador.

2. Viola Davis gana como Mejor Actriz de Drama
A pesar que quería que ganara Tatiana Maslany con todas mis fuerzas, esta categoría era de las más reñidas de todas. Recientemente empecé a ver la serie Empire y Taraji P. Henson se jala un papelazo, no solo eso, sino que su personaje tiene una complejidad y riqueza inagotable. Por otro lado Elizabeth Moss participaba por última vez con su serie Mad Men, esta vez como actriz principal. Y ni que hablar de Robin Wright y Claire Danes que son ya para mi consagradas. Sin embargo este año Viola Davis fue la más aclamada por la academia, en su papel de Annalise Keating, que básicamente nos hizo llorar, asustarnos, competir, pasarnos de bandos y pensar y pensar (porque cada vez que creíamos que lograbamos entender o descubrir algo o tener la respuesta, ella nos probaba lo contrario) en su primera temporada de How To Get Away With Murder. Viola no solo merecía (como todas las demás actrices nominadas en su categoría) este gran honor, sino que también es la primer mujer de color en ganar un premio Emmy como actriz principal cualquier categoría de los Emmy.
“In my mind, I see a line. And over that line I see green fields and lovely flowers and beautiful white women with their arms stretched out to me over that line, but I can’t seem to get there no-how. I can’t seem to get over that line,” Davis said, quoting Harriet Tubman in her acceptance speech. “Let me tell you something: the only thing that separates women of color from anyone else is opportunity. You cannot win an Emmy for roles that are simply not there.”
